Apple – Iphone 5

So we’re all aware of Apple’s recent iPhone 5 release. I was looking for something interesting to blog about this week and this was the first thing that came to mind. There was a lot of controversy with the iPhone 5, especially after Steve Jobs’ passing.

ImageDespite the controversy, it seems like Apple had a really good opening sale. According to apple’s press information story, just three days after the opening, Apple sold 5 million iPhone 5s. The demand has been significant and I even noticed in daily life that a lot of my friends got it. Although I can’t afford it right now, I’m definitely getting when my next upgrade rolls around!

The release of the iPhone 5 was certainly well received.

“Demand for iPhone 5 has been incredible and we are working hard to get an iPhone 5 into the hands of every customer who wants one as quickly as possible,” Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.

I think its a good branding and PR move that apple also released its new software, iOS 6 for free to Apple users who can’t quite afford the iPhone 5 yet. I’ve been pretty happy with the updates.

I was actually surprised by how many people who had just gotten the Iphone 4s, rushed to the stores to get the latest and greatest apple product. I completely agree that the idea for apple to provide a free software upgrade to current iphone users was smart, because it still allows iphone users to be equipped with the latest features. The new map for the upgrade of the iphone is actually amazing, it’s much easier to use now when I drive because of the speaking feature. Another interesting statistic that caught my eye in your blog, is that 5 million Iphone 5s, have been sold, even though our country is still in a state of recession; the Iphone must be recession proof!
